Mrs. May passed away Friday at Summitt Medical Center in Nashville.
The widow of George W. May, Jr., who died in 2006, she was a homemaker. She was born to Howard and Leatha Morris Whitten, both of whom preceded her in death and lived in Brownsville prior to moving to Nashville in 2007.
Survivors include a daughter and son in law, Icie May-West and Matthew of Nashville; a granddaughter, Abbey West of Nashville; and two brothers, Kenneth Whitten of Whiteville and Jerry Whitten of Savannah. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, John Frank Whitten and a sister, Wanza Whitten.
