Services for Oma Dixon Hensley, age 92, of Smyrna formerly of Shawnettee Community will be Sunday, October 24, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Shawnettee United Methodist Church with Jim Arrington and John Ives officiating. Burial will follow in the Shawnettee Memorial Gardens with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.
Today we celebrate the life and home coming of Oma Dixon Hensley, born May 25, 1918 in Lawrence County, Tennessee to Boyd Harrison and Minnie Kilburn Dixon. She departed this life on October 21, 2010 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center in Mufreesboro, Tennessee at the age of 92 Years, 4 Months, 26 Days, to continue her life in her new home with her Lord.
She was a homemaker, loved gardening and quilting. She was a member of Shawnettee United Methodist Church for 75 years.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hensley was preceded in death by her husband J.D. Hensley; grandson, Millicent Pierce; and five siblings.
Left to mourn her daughter, Barbara Ann Pierce of Smyrna, TN;
grandson, Loren Pierce and wife Cathey; granddaughters, Melodee Hall and husband Kevin, Marissa Lykins and husband Rick, Martika Larry and husband Ed, Erin Gagovski and husband Ryan; six great-grandsons and six great-granddaughters, and
seven great-great-grandchildren;
devoted nephew, Jerry Haddock and wife Marie, and other nieces and nephews and devoted friends
