Octavia Cunningham

Octavia Turnbow Cunninghamwas born in Liberty, Tennessee on December 25, 1911 the daughter of the late William and Nancy Ratliff Turnbow.On January 29, 1927 she was united in marriage to Hershel Cunningham, who preceded her in death on June 20, 1988.Ms. Cunningham lived in the Milledgeville community all her married life and was a member of the Milledgeville Pentecostal Church. Ms. Cunningham departed this life on Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at her home at the age of 96 years, 5 months, 30 days.Ms. Cunningham is survived by three sons: J.W. Cunningham and his wife Nell of Mishawaka, Indiana, R.D. Cunningham and his wife Dorothy of Morris Chapel, Tennessee, Harold Cunningham and his wife Joanne of Granger, Indiana; twin sisters: Ersie Kirkman and Versie Smith both of Crump, Tennessee; nine grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren.In addition to husband and parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers: her twin brother Octaloni Turnbow, Grady Turnbow, Nathan Turnbow, Enlow Turnbow and Linus Turnbow; five sisters: Roxie Pugh, Ethel Stinett, Essie Pugh, Vinnie Stinett, and Early Blankenship; a grandson-in-law: Carnell Jones in 2006; a great-grandson: Nathaniel Cunningham in 2003.
