Henderson: Norman Scott, age 68, retired District Manager Southwest Tennessee Electric Membership Corporation, died Friday evening, May 25, 2007 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
Mr. Scott was born and reared at Sardis, TN, the son of the late Robert McCager and Ruby Etta Scott. He graduated from Sardis High School in 1957, and served in the U S Army from 1962 to 1964, being stationed in Germany as a military police officer. He was married to Linda Taylor in 1965 and they had made their home in Henderson all their married life.
He began work with Southwest Electric in Henderson in 1965, working first as a groundman, then as a lineman, later as a line foreman, and then as district manager from 1983 until 2003 when he retired after having worked 38 years with Southwest.
He enjoyed playing golf and woodworking after his retirement. He was a member of the Estes Church of Christ where he served as a deacon.
He is survived by his wife Linda Taylor Scott of Henderson and a son Trent Scott and wife Suzanne of Finger.
He also has two brothers; Glenn Scott of Adamsville and Joe Scott of Scottshill and two sisters; Linda Weldon of Salem, AR and Barbara Clenney of Reagan.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday from the Chapel of Casey Funeral Home with Roy Sharp, Billy Joe Naylor, and Milton Tucker officiating and burial will follow at Chester County Memory Gardens. Employees of Southwest TN Electric Membership Corporation will serve as honorary pall bearers.
