Norma Ruth Thompson of Collinwood, TN was born October 27, 1942 in Mishawaka, IN the daughter of the late Charles Cyrill Rigley and Frances Violet Keene Rigley Stoeckinger. Mrs. Thompson died Friday, November 7, 2014 at her home in Collinwood, Tennessee at the age of 72 Years, 11 Days. On March 3, 1967 she was married to Danny Carl Thompson. He preceded her in death February 23, 2009. Prior to relocating to Wayne County, she had lived in Velma, Oklahoma, Sulphur, Oklahoma, and Elkhart, Indiana. She did various jobs over the years including working in the oil industry, construction companies, and also was a truck driver, driving for D. & N. Trucking and J.B. Hunt Trucking Co. However, mostly she was a homemaker and a loving mother for her 4 children. She was a member of St. Joseph Senior Citizens Center and attended Cypress Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church.
She is survived by three sons, James McCool of Nashua, NH, Terry Thompson of Velma, OK, and Darrell Thompson of Lawton, OK, a daughter, Candy Windsor of Fort Wayne, IN, grandchildren, Justin, Amanda M, Kenny, Zachary, Arianna, Ashley, Robert, Nicholas, Samantha, Ashlee, Makayla, Jacob, Dylan, Kody, Shaleah, Matt, and Amanda T., and great grandchildren, Logan, Landon, and Braxton, brothers, Robert Rigley of Glendale, AZ, Glen Stoeckinger of Elkhart, IN, sisters, Joan Shultz of South Bend, IN, Ellen Stults, of Iron City, TN, Patricia Sluder, Betty Smith, and Mary Dickerhoof all of Elkhart,IN, In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe and George Rigley.
At her request her remains were cremated.
