Mrs. Smith passed away Saturday morning at Tippah County Hospital in Ripley.



The wife of Charles C. Smith, who survives, she was a homemaker. She was born to John Wesley Kirk and Beulah Olivia Bell Kirk and lived all of her life in this area. She was a member of Christ Temple Apostolic Church at Walnut.



In addition to her husband, whom she married on December 5, 1982, survivors include two daughters, Debra L. Petersen of Whiteville and Brenda L. Lowrance of Walnut, Miss.; a son, John W. Lowrance of Middleton; a sister, Shirley Smith of Walnut; a brother, Jerry B. Kirk of Walnut; a step son, William P. Smith of Broken Arrow, Okla.; 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, John Thomas Lowrance, who died on July 25, 1976; and three brothers, Billy C. Bell, Charles D. Kirk and William C. 'Buddy' Kirk.
