Services for Nona Sandusky, Florence, AL, formerly of Wayne County, TN, will be Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at 3 pm at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel, Collinwood, with Bros. Keith Montgomery, Greg Eaton, and Chad Balentine officiating. Burial will be in Piney Grove Cemetery, Cypress Inn, TN with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 20, 2007 from 6 pm to 9 pm and Wednesday, February 21, 2007 from 10 am until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Sandusky died Sunday, February 18, 2007. Born in Wayne County, TN on February 23, 1921, she was a homemaker and a member of Piney Grove Freewill Baptist Church. Mrs. Sandusky was a preceded in death by parents, Harrison and Pearl Gillis Rich, husband of 58 years, J. C. Sandusky, son, Teddy Sandusky, daughter, Betty Sue Sandusky, sister, Gladys Balentine, and brothers, Orbie, Arvil, and Joel Rich.



Survivors, daughter, Judy (Ricky) Mathis, Florence, son, Danny (Patti) Sandusky, Collinwood, grandchildren, Christopher (Cindy) Caperton, Collinwood, Caleb Caperton, Florence, Yolanda (Tim) Morgan, Columbia, TN, Kale Sandusky, Collinwood, Bart (Trisha) Mathis, Florence, Blake Mathis, Madison, AL, Jessica Sledge, Cypress Inn, Jennifer (John) Bray, Collinwood, Joey (Kayla) Sledge, Cypress Inn, great-grandchildren, Taylor and Preston Caperton, Justin Haddock, Keithen Risner, Jenson and Danlee Bray, Carter, Cole, and Max Mathis, brothers, Carl Rich, Iron City, T. F. Rich, Collinwood, sisters, Alta Scott, Iron City, Christine Patterson, Waynesboro, Nina Brewer, Florence, several nieces and nephews.



The family would like to express gratitude to the Zip City Fire Department, the North Star Ambulance Service, and the ECM Hospital ER doctors and nurses for all they did to try and save our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister.
