Nola Ellis

Nola Clifton Ellis was born June 3, 1916 in McNairy County, Tennessee the daughter of the late William and Nina Moore Clifton.She was united in marriage to Louis E. Ellis on December 24, 1939. Mr. Ellis preceded her in death on May 3, 1979, after almost 40 years of marriage.Mrs. Ellis graduated from Selmer High School in 1935. She later attended business college in Memphis before taking a job with Selmer Bank and Trust. She retired from the bank as a cashier after 42 years of service. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Selmer, Tennessee, and the VFW Auxillary. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and a friend to all who knew her.Mrs. Ellis departed this life on February 13, 2009 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 92 Years, 8 Months, 10 Days. She is survived by a daughter, Nina Kientz and husband James of Selmer, TN; a granddaughter, Michelle Kientz of Selmer, TN; a great-grandson, Rhett K. Bivens of Selmer, TN; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Ellis was preceded in death by a sister, Ocie Cantrell, and two brothers, Grady and Howard Clifton.
