Nina Pirtle Pepper, 97, of Whiteville, died Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at Bolivar General Hospital.
The widow of John R. Pepper, who died October 30, 1985, she worked at Pinner’s Grocery in Whiteville and was a homemaker. Mrs. Pepper was born October 16, 1909 in Toone, daughter of the late William Riley Pirtle and Margaret Overton Pirtle and made her home in Whiteville in 1944. She was a member of Midway Baptist Church, Whiteville Friendship Club and the Toone Senior Citizen’s Club.
Survivors include one daughter, Betty Pepper Fleet and her husband, Barry of Memphis; one son, Robert J. Pepper of Jackson; four grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
