'Nick' Elmer Nixon

April 26, 1925 — April 14, 2008

Mr. Nixon passed away Monday at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis.



The husband of Helen Nixon, who survives, he was a driver with Mobil Chemical for 35 years. He was born to Elmer Nixon, Sr. and Margaret Jones Nixon, both of whom preceded him in death and lived at Grand Valley Lakes for 25 years. He was a reserve sheriff's deputy and was president and founder of the Grand Valley Lakes Fire Department. Mr. Nixon was a member of West Memorial Baptist Church.



In addition to his wife, whom he married on August 8, 1954, survivors include four daughters and their spouses, Debra and Michael Call of Collierville, Robin & Bobby Wilcox of Cordova, Beverly Nixon of Lake Geneva, WI and Donna and Ron Ankebrnat of Shelby Forest, TN; two brothers, Edwin Nixon of Tampa, FL and Robert Nixon of Harvard, IL: 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Nixon.
