Nellie Mitchell

Nellie Beatty Mitchell of Waynesboro, TN was born November 17, 1932 in Leesburg, Florida, the daughter of the late Porter Elmer and Bertie Mae Pruitt Beatty. Mrs. Mitchell was a Comptroller with the U. S. Military and Federal Government . She had her Master's Degree and 95% completed Doctorate in Business. Mrs. Mitchell was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and enjoyed travelling abroad. Mrs. Mitchell departed this life on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at her home in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 78 Years, 1 Month, 1 Day after a long illness. She is survived by her husband, Maynard M. Mitchell of Waynesboro, TN; two sons, Thomas A. Mitchell of Loretto, TN, Michael P. Mitchell of Waynesboro, TN; a daughter, Shirley A. Williams of Collinwood, TN; 7 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren; a brother, Tom Beatty of Melbourne, FL. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mitchell was preceded in death by a son, Richard Mitchell. Services will be held on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel, Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Cal Hampton officiating. Burial will follow in the Warren Cemetery, Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors directing. Visitation will be Monday, December 20, 2010 from 6 pm to 9 pm and Tuesday, December 21, 2010 from 8 am to service time at the funeral home.
