Nellie Henson
was born in the Big Ivy Community of Hardin County on March 4, 1918, the daughter of the late Bryon S. and Mary Jane Shubert Ward.
On December 12, 1936 she was united in marriage to J.R. Henson, who preceded her in death on July 26, 1994. Mrs. Henson was a homemaker and also worked in the garment industry at Salant & Salant in Somerville, Tennessee, Garan in Adamsville, Tennessee and River Heights Manufacturing Co. in Crump, Tennessee. She was also a member of Sand Hill Pentecostal Church.
She departed this life on March 16, 2006 at Park Rest Nursing Home in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 88 years and 12 days.

Lillie Frances “Boo†McFadden of Savannah, Tennessee
Martha Dianne Davis of Adamsville, Tennessee;
4 sons: James Henson of Lawrenceville, Georgia
Odis Henson of Adamsville, Tennessee
Roger Henson of Savannah, Tennessee
Larry Henson of Morris Chapel, Tennessee;
42 grandchildren; 69 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren;
and one brother, Wes Ward of Savannah, Tennessee.
In addition to her parents and husband, J.R., she was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Cummings; 2 sons: Stephen Henson and Mancil Henson; 2 grandchildren: Rina Wilkerson and Katherine Alexander; 4 sisters: Ollie Brown, Effie Sargent, Anna Laura Myers and Lillie Belle Price and 2 brothers: Hub Ward and Roosevelt Ward.
