Nell Marie Nowlin was born January 27, 1924 in McNairy County, Tennessee the daughter of the late Elmer and Tinnie Moore Jamerson.
She was united in marriage to Robert Nowlin on July 3, 1949. Mr. Nowlin preceded her in death on August 26, 2005.
Mrs. Nowlin was a member of the West Shiloh Baptist Church in Stantonville, Tennessee. She worked at Brown Shoe Company for 40 years, Wal-Mart for 5 years; volunteered at McNairy Regional Hospital for over 20 years logging 8,000 hours as a Pink Lady; she was very active in the Senior Center, she received numerous medals in the Senior Olympics. In her younger days, she enjoyed riding horses especially barrel racing. Mrs. Nowlin had an adventorous spirit, she loved to drag race, on one occasion Mr. Nowlin sold her car to keep her from racing. His thought was selling the fast car and buying a car that wouldn't go as fast would end her drag racing but she would still punch the pedal. Along with her adventorous spirit she was a caring person always taking care of others.
Mrs. Nowlin departed this life on March 30, 2010 in Adamsville, Tennessee at the age of 86 Years, 2 Months, 3 Days. She is survived by two grandchildren, Teddy Nowlin of Stantonville, TN, Beth Ann Haynes and husband Johnny of Booneville, MS; great ganddaughter, Katie Glisson and great grandson, Benjamin Haynes both of Booneville, MS; two sisters, Mandy Amerson of Leapwood, TN, Jean Cox of Bethel Springs, TN; special niece, Katie McCormick of Selmer, TN; host of nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Nowlin was preceded in death by a son, Teddy Nowlin, Sr.; three sisters, Pauline Hair, Mauline Singleton, Mary Edith Jamerson; five brothers, Garner Jamerson, Ovie Jamerson, Wilson Jamerson, J.R. Jamerson, Nelson Jamerson.
