Nell Basham

Nell Humphries Basham was born September 25, 1927 in McNairy County, TN the daughter of the late William Dorsey and Ethel Pounds Humphries.She was united in marriage to Dean Basham on December 28, 1947. Mr. Basham preceded her in death on September 28, 2007.Mrs. Basham was a loving homemaker for her family. She enjoyed woodworking, painting, and fishing, but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Basham was a faithful member of the Locke Road Baptist Church.Mrs. Basham departed this life on November 9, 2012 in Corinth, Mississippi at the age of 85 Years, 1 Month, 15 Days. She is survived by three daughters: Barbara Dunaway and husband Jerry, Donna B. King and husband Joe, and Renee Young and husband Charles, all of Selmer, TN; five grandchildren: Tim Dunaway and wife Demmie, Shane Dunaway and wife Lorrie, Pam K. Gladish and husband Bart, Austin Young, and Lindsey Young; 9 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Basham was preceded in death by a sister, Artie Mae Russom; and a brother, Freeman Humphries.
