NEAL BREWER
Henderson, TN: Richard Neal Brewer age 84 passed away July 17, 2020 at his home.
He was born October 28, 1935 at Henderson, TN, the son of the late Charlie and Leva Katherine Rogers Brewer. He graduated from Chester County High School. He worked for the Tennessee State Park and Recreation at Shelby Forest in Shelby County, TN for thirty plus years. He was transferred to Chickasaw State Forest in 1975, retiring in the mid 80’s. He worked as a Park Ranger at Chickasaw Park and Shelby Forest where he was a Supervisor. After retiring he worked as a security guard on the campus at Freed Hardeman University.
He was married to June Craig Brewer, she passed away in 1976.
He later married Marie Berry Brewer.
He was a long time member of Sanford Hill Baptist Church and loved being with his family. He also loved watching Fox News.
He was a Mason and a member of the Henderson Masonic Lodge.
Mr. Brewer is survived by his wife, Marie Berry Brewer of Henderson; a daughter Sheila Watkins (Stephen) of Henderson; three stepdaughters, Bonifay Youngblood (Mike) of Jackson, Cheryl McGhee (Chip) of Jacksonville, FL and Kathy Easterwood of Alexander City, AL; two grandchildren, Rebecca Phillips (Dexter) of Nashville and Braden Watkins of Henderson, eleven step grandchildren and nine step great grandchildren and a sister, Cara Holmes (Robert) of Henderson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, June Craig Brewer in 1976, a sister, Marie Lee; two brothers, Ray Brewer and Fay Brewer and a stepson, Jimmy Berry.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday July 20th at Sanford Hill Baptist Church with Shane Connor and Charles Fowler officiating. Burial will follow at 3:30 PM Monday at Walnut Grove Baptist Church Cemetery at Ripley, TN.
The family will receive friends at Sanford Hill Baptist Church 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Sunday and 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM on Monday at the Church.
In lieu of flowers the family request Gideon Bibles as memorials.
