Naomi McBride Berryman

Mrs. Naomi McBride Berryman, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend, passed away on Wednesday evening, January 17, 2024, at Mississippi Care Center in Corinth.  

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Monday, January 24, 2024, at the Shackelford Chapel in Middleton, with visitation beginning at 12 Noon.  Interment will be in Union Cemetery near Chalybeate, MS.

She was born in Middleton, one of six children, to Leslie and Lizzie Stewart McBride.  Mrs. Berryman was a life-long member of the Tiplersville Church of Christ and retired secretary at Chalybeate School.  She had lived in Walnut since 1961.

She married Mr. Howard W. Berryman on September 29, 1955 and they enjoyed 60 years together before his death on July 27, 2016 at the age of 89.  In her leisure time, Mrs.  Berryman enjoyed tending the flower beds of her home in Walnut.

She leaves a son, Terry (Carol) Berryman of Middleton; a sister, Pat Brumbelow of St. Augustine, FL; three grandchildren, Jesse Berryman, Bryson Berryman and Kristan (Jamie) Carter; eight great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Eddie J. Berryman of Gulfport, MS; two sisters, Hattie Stewart and Nita Garland; and two brothers, Gerald and Jimmy McBride.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the church or charity of the donor's choice.
