Nancy "Nanny" Tull, cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, gracefully departed this life on January 13, 2025, in Bethel Springs, Tennessee, at the age of 89 years and 29 days. Born on December 15, 1935, in Georgetown, Louisiana, she was the beloved daughter of the late Leonard and Ludie King Sweat.
A proud graduate of Selmer High School, Class of 1954, Nancy began her beautiful journey of life when she was united in marriage with J.R. Tull on October 23, 1954. Together, they shared a remarkable 70 years filled with love and adventure. For over two decades, she dedicated herself to the Brown Shoe Company before following her dreams and opening Tull's Grocery in 1975—which later expanded to Tull's Grocery and Sporting Goods—retiring in 2005 to fully embrace her greatest joy: family.
Nancy was a woman of profound faith, serving as an active member of Full Gospel Fellowship Church in Bethel Springs, where her Christian beliefs inspired her unwavering love and care for those around her. Her warmth and kindness touched countless lives, making her a beacon of light in her community.
A true adventurer at heart, she savored traveling with her husband, exploring new places while she also found joy in shopping, thrifting, doodling, cooking, hunting for antiques, and, most importantly, spoiling her grandchildren. Her family meant the world to her; she was the epitome of a caring mother and grandmother, known lovingly as "Nanny." The special moments spent fishing, camping, getting lost on backroads, and creating lasting memories will be cherished by her grandchildren forever.
Her joyous spirit, quick wit, and infectious laughter will be deeply missed. Nancy made a lasting impact, known for her bright smile and generous heart that welcomed everyone into her life.
She leaves behind a loving family, including her devoted husband, J.R. Tull of Bethel Springs, TN; daughter Tammi King and husband Tim of Bethel Springs, TN; five grandchildren, Justin Tull, Tiffany King, Kristin McNatt and husband Ross, Tara Sanders and husband Joseph, Teesha Hicks; sisters, Brenda Robbins and Mary McCullar and husband Jimmy all of Selmer, TN; brother-in-law, Anthony Tull of Bethel Springs,TN; sister-in-law, Dorothy Wheatley of Selmer, TN;
and thirteen great-grandchildren, each of whom she adored, Addison Sanders, Laina Sanders, Bryson King, Taleah (LeLe) King, MaKinley Jo Sanders, Reed McNatt, Rylan McNatt, Tinsley Hicks, Evelyn (Evie) King, Trentyn Hicks, Sawyer Tull, Briella (Ella) King, Willow Sanders; and a host of extended family and friends.
