NANCY NAYLOR MAYFIELD
Henderson, TN: Nancy Faye Naylor Mayfield, age 78, passed away early Friday morning February 10, 2012 at Chester County Health Care.
Mrs. Mayfield was born and reared in the Old Friendship community of Chester County, the daughter of the late George Thomas and Pauline Freeman Naylor. She graduated from Chester County High School in 1951 and married Floyd Mayfield the same year. They made their home in the Harmony community since 1955. She worked at Salant & Salant a few years, and later as a cook at Jacks Restaurant for seven years and had worked part time for the Chester County Highway Department. She was very active in the Harmony Home Demonstration Club and had served as president and was always very involved in the club’s activities. She was a member of the Estes Church of Christ where she attended all of her life and had taught first, second, and third grade bible classes for over twenty years.
Mrs. Mayfield is survived by her husband of sixty years, Floyd Hayes Mayfield of Henderson; a son Timothy Mayfield and wife Ramona of Madison, AL; two grandchildren Tanner and Naylor Mayfield; a brother Doug Naylor of Silverdale, WA; three sisters, Mary Sue Isbell of Henderson, Sarah Francis Patterson of Finger and Tommie Campbell of Fort Washington, MD.
She was preceded in death by a son, Paul Mayfield in 1975 and a brother, Frank Naylor.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Alan Highers and B. J. Naylor officiating and burial will follow at Estes Cemetery with Roy Sharp and Billy Smith officiating.
The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel beginning at 5:00 PM Saturday
