Nancy Etheridge

Nancy Dowty Etheridge was born November 15, 1941 in Pocahontas, Tennessee the daughter of the late William Dowty and Daphine Kernold Dowty Gilbert.She was united in marriage to James Etheridge on December 20, 1969.Mrs. Etheridge was a teacher for 40 years at Selmer Elementary School in Selmer, TN. She was a member of the Court Avenue Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Selmer, Tennessee where she was an elder. She was a graduate of Bethel Springs High School, recieved her bachelor's degree from Bethel College and her master's degree from Memphis State.Mrs. Etheridge departed this life on December 11, 2010 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 69 Years, 26 Days. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, James Etheridge of Selmer, TN; nephew, Arden Dowty and wife Becky; three great nephews, Jacob Dowty, Tyler Dowty and Stephen Harmon; great niece, Krystina Harmon; great great niece, Adyson Payge Ray; great great nephew, Timothy Todd Prather; three aunts, Mae Ola Whitten of Selmer, TN, Martha Nell Crowe of Bethel Springs, TN and Alice Chandler of Memphis, TN; best friend, Betty Wilkerson of Selmer, TN; sister-in-law, Glenda Dowty of Selmer, TN.In addition to her parents, Mrs Etheridge was preceded in death by a brother, W.L. Dowty.
