NANCY CAROLYN ARCHER
Nancy Carolyn Archer, 80, of Lexington and Henderson, Tennessee, died on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at the Briarwood Community Living Center in Lexington after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Nancy was born on November 22, 1941, the daughter of the late Jess M. Archer and Grace Weaver Archer. Nancy worked at Salant & Salant Inc. in Henderson, Tennessee and AutoZone Distribution in Lexington, Tennessee. She was a lifelong member of Estes Church of Christ in Henderson and more recently Broad Street Church of Christ in Lexington. Nancy was an avid fisherman who loved to take her mother and her mother’s friends fishing. She also loved to travel and took many trips out west with family and friends. In her later years, she retired and lived with her sister and beloved puppy, Sophie Louise. In addition to her parents, Nancy was predeceased by her brother, Ernest Archer, and sisters, Louise Cherry, Dorothy Dodson and Kaky Archer; as well as beloved niece Camise Strunk and beloved nephews, Bob Cherry and Joe Cherry. She is survived by nieces Holly Dodson Speight (Brad) of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida and Leslie Dodson Hunt (Jeff) of Henderson, Tennessee; as well as great nieces, Grace Paschall of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Brooke Hunt Welch (Tyler) of Henderson, Tennessee, Beth Hunt Powell (John Mark) of Alamo, Tennessee, Elise Cherry of Memphis, Tennessee, and great nephew, Andrew Hunt of Henderson Tennessee.
Visitation for family and friends will be held at Shackleford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue Chapel in Henderson beginning at 12:00 PM with funeral services, at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 22nd at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue Chapel. Burial to follow at Refuge Cemetery, in Bethel Springs, Tennessee.
