Myrtle E. Bratcher

Myrtle E. Bratcher departed this life on Thursday, April 2, 2009 at Wayne Medical Center in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 90 Years, 6 Months, 30 Days. She was born September 3, 1918 in Waynesboro, Tennessee, the daughter of the late John Harrison and Flora Bryant Scott.



In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; Dalton Bratcher; a sister, Mary Boaz; five brothers, Alf, Roy, Jay, Bill, and Charles Scott.



Mrs. Bratcher was a retired cook at the Wayne County Hospital and a member of the Rayburn's Creek Freewill Baptist Church .



Survivors include, a daughter, Mary Frances Staggs and companion, Glen Smith of Waynesboro, TN; grandchildren; Brenda Andrews and husband, Randall, Kenneth Staggs and wife, Debbie, Brian Staggs and wife Carla, and Wayne Staggs; two step-grandchildren, Lytle and Steve Smith; five great-grandchildren, Jeremy Scott Andrews, Daniel Townsend, Jeremy Ray Risner, Nicole Smith, Austin Staggs; five great-great-grandchildren, Gunner and Abrianna Andrews, Ashley Staggs, Shelby Risner, and Daygen Smith; nieces and nephews.



Services will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel in Waynesboro, Tennessee with Ed Lopp officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Hebron Cemetery, Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County directing. Visitation will be Friday, April 3, 2009 from 6 pm to 9 pm and Saturday, April 4, 2009 from 8 am until service time at the funeral home.



Pallbearers will be Jerry Bratcher, Austin Staggs, Randall Andrews, Ron Smith, Jeremy Risner, Lytle Smith, Steve Smith.
