Myra Jo Isbell Whitten Hall was born February 22, 1918 in the Woodville community of Chester County, TN, the daughter of the late Mark and Amelia Ray Isbell. She was united in marriage to Hollis Whitten in 1941 and they made their home in the Woodville community and later in the Old Friendship community. Mr. Whitten passed away in 1965 and Myra married Howard Hall in 1968. Mr. Hall passed away in 2000. She moved to Georgia in 2001 to be near family. She was retired from a long career in the garment industry, including Salant & Salant and Jetrics. She was a long time member of Old Friendship Baptist Church and later a member of Alpharetta First Baptist in Alpharetta, Ga. She had interests in vegetable and flower gardening, quilting, old time gospel music, and birds. She was also an avid cat lover.
Mrs. Hall departed this life on October 6, 2016 in Jasper, GA at the age of 98 years, 8 months and 14 days.
She is survived by a son, Michael Whitten and wife Ellen of Jasper, GA and Fort Myers, FL, four grandchildren, Shelley Townsend and husband Matt of Cumming, GA, Wes Whitten and wife Melanie of Locust Grove, GA, Stacey Adams and husband Russell of Atlanta, GA, Emily Price and husband Shepherd of Chicago,IL, seven great grandchildren, one great-great grandson and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and her spouses, Mrs. Hall was preceded in death by a son, Vance Whitten, at birth in 1942, a daughter, Rene Whitten, in 1963; two sisters, Alice Moore and Pauline Lewis.
