Myra Cleveland Atkins was born November 6, 1916 in Alcorn County, Mississippi the daughter of the late Thaddeus and Eleanor Whitehurst Cleveland.She was united in marriage to Ingram Atkins on October 2, 1953. Mr. Atkins preceded her in death on November 3, 1998.Mrs. Atkins was a homemaker . She was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church in Corinth, Mississippi, Acton Home Demonstration Club, and the United Methodist Women.Mrs. Atkins departed this life on February 20, 2009 in Corinth, Mississippi at the age of 92 Years, 3 Months, 14 Days. She is survived by three daughters, Cornelia George Counce and husband Ray of Acton, TN, Barbara Rodgers of Corinth, MS, Gloria Brown and husband James of Acton, TN; two sons, Malcolm Atkins and wife Chris of Old Hickory, TN, Hoyt Atkins and wife Elaine of Pulaski, TN; seven grandchildren, Steven Atkins, Susan Atkins, Jay Atkins, Terrell George, Dana Holmes, Lee Rodgers, Angie Rodgers; 14 Great Grandchildren.In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Atkins was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Glen George Jr.; four sisters, Velma Taylor, Birdie Marlar, Evelyn Cleveland, Grace Vanderford; a brother, Robert Cleveland.
