Services for Miriam Lavonne Poppell, age 88, Waynesboro, TN will be held Thursday, June 19, 2008 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Home in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Edd Lopp officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County in charge of arrangements.Mrs. Poppell departed this life on Sunday, June 15, 2008 at Wayne County Nursing Home in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 88 Years, 8 Months, 9 Days. She was born October 6, 1919 in Alton, Florida to the late Remer Howard and Mary Willie Parker Powell. She was preceded in death by her husband Johnny Belford Poppell, a brother, Mr. Remer Powell Jr. and 4 grandchildren. She was a homemaker and attended the Baptist church.She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Clara Staggs of Waynesboro, TN, Mrs. Elizabeth Najera of Brandenton, FL; two sons, Mr. Belford Richard Poppell of Brandenton, FL and Mr. Dennis Poppell of Apopka, FL; 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Clara Jeanette Powell of Mariana, FL;
