After a courageous struggle with breast cancer, she passed away at home surrounded by family on Thursday, April 5, 2007. She was born November 19, 1936 to Milton and Cara Hurst and was raised in the Masseyville Community and she attended Chester County Schools. On December 5, 1952, at the age of 16 she married the love of her life, Billy Gene Williams of the Five Points Community. They began their married life together in the home of his parents Tommie and Elsie Williams. They remained in the Five Points Community where they raised their two children, Vicki and Billy. Following Billy’s retirement from Conalco, they moved to Henderson.
Among her many gifts, Pearl was a homemaker, talented seamstress, costume designer, gardener, a friend to all, and foremost a God fearing Christian woman. She was a member of the Big Springs United Methodist Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher, program coordinator and she also served multiple offices in the Missionary Society.
She was a vital member of the community, further serving in various charity events and in the Home Demonstration Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband Billy.
Besides her two children, Billy R. Williams and Vicki Phillips, she is survived by three grandchildren, Stephen Phillips, Josh Williams and Julie Williams Young; her mother, Cara Hurst; her sisters-in-law, Linda Lewis Lawrence and Frances Inman and a brother-in-law, Charles Williams.
