Millie Estelle Wilson Poole, 85, of Medon, died Saturday evening, November 26, 2005 at Bolivar General Hospital.
The widow of James Clifton Poole, Sr., who died in 1997, she worked for Kilgore Corporation for 20 years until her retirement in 1982. Mrs. Poole was born February 24, 1920, daughter of the late Monroe Wilson and Lula Adline Wilson. She was a member of New Union Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and had lived in Hardeman County all her life.
Services were 2 pm Monday, November 28, 2005 at New Union Baptist Church with Gene Stafford and Orville McMahan officiating. Burial was in New Union Baptist Cemetery. Shackelford Funeral Directors of Bolivar were in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Poole is survived by her daughter, Freida Shields of Medon; two sons, Larry Poole and Gary Poole and his wife, Margie, all of Medon; seven grandchildren, Vickie Weaver, Tina Hill, Chad, Bryan and Keith Poole, Austin Shields and Todd Russell and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, James Clifton Poole, Jr.; two sisters, I. D. Tims and Jettie Smith; a brother, W. B. Wilson; and a grandchild, "Little Ricky" Poole.
