Millie Lucille Martin

MILLIE LUCILLE MARTIN

was born in Sardis, Tennessee on June 22, 1925 the daughter of the late Charles Walter and Zonie Perkins Rice.

In 1955 she was united in marriage to Paul E. (Corky) Martin, who preceded his wife in death on February 21, 1989.

Mrs. Martin was a retired teller from Citizens Bank. She was a member of Counce First Baptist Church where she served as treasurer. Mrs. Martin enjoyed working with her flower and rose garden. She was very devoted to her church family and her family, where everyone knew her as "Aunt Lucy".

Mrs. Martin departed this life on September 26, 2016 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 91 years, 3 months and 4 days.

She is survived by one son, Anthony Wayne Martin and his wife Sandra of Lexington, Tennessee.

Mrs. Martin is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Tommy Martin and his wife Joanne of Counce, Tennessee, Janice Porterfield of Atlanta, Texas, Joyce Waters of Counce, Tennessee, Phillip Martin of El Paso, Texas, Anita Fletcher of Asheville, North Carolina, Linda Mitzke of Memphis, Tennessee, Mickey Barker of Savannah, Tennessee, Paula Byrd of Nashville, Tennessee, Marty Rice of Nashville, Tennessee, Mike Rice, Steve Rice and Janet Rice.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her three brothers, Cecil, Paul and Holland Rice.
