Millard Lee Whatley

Millard Lee Whatley, Jr. of Bethel Springs, TN was born in Drew, MS on September 18, 1941 to the late Millard Lee Whatley, Sr. and the late Cathryn Rickels Whatley. He departed this life on March 31, 2016, leaving his loving wife, Judy Piper Whatley, and his children Lorri Barkley and husband, William, of Pocahontas, Lisa Pearson and husband, Ricky, of Adamsville, Phillip Piper and wife Becky, of Cleveland, and Lynda Walters and husband, Gary, of Bethel Springs.

He is also survived by a sister, Cathy Beach and husband Donald Beach of Horn Lake, MS, 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 1 niece, and 1 nephew.

Lee enjoyed animals, woodworking, hunting, gardening, and watching old westerns. He loved spending time with his family - especially spoiling the grandkids.

Lee was a faithful member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and loved God and his church family.

He was employed at Dover Elevator and worked for the City of Middleton along with the Sheriff's Department before retiring.

The family asks that any memorials be made to the Scholarship Fund at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Bethel Springs, TN.
