Mildred V. Wigginton was born December 7, 1921 in McNairy County, TN the daughter of the late Jim and Mary Lou Evans Chambers.
She was united in marriage to James Martin Wigginton on July 12, 1941. Mr. Wigginton preceded her in death on November 28, 2011, following 70 years of marriage.
Mrs. Wigginton attended school in Adamsville, and worked as a beautician for over 35 years. She enjoyed fishing, camping, and shopping, but her life revolved around her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Wigginton was a faithful member of the Michie First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Wigginton departed this life on September 19, 2013 in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 91 Years, 9 Months, 12 Days. She is survived by a son, Jerry Wigginton and wife Regenia of Michie, TN; five grandchildren: Tom Wigginton, Jeremy Wigginton and wife Marcia, Shea Wigginton and wife Lori, Christie Tucker and husband Scott, and Jim Wigginton and wife Misty; twelve great-grandchildren: Jacob, Hunter, Ansley, Morgan, Madison, Briley, Aaliyah, Mitchell, Marlee, Milee, Allison, and Jackson; two sisters, Alene Pettigrew of Adamsville, TN and Jo Ann Hughes and husband Billy Ray of Michie, TN; two brothers, Charles (Bear) Chambers of Adamsville, TN and Ab Chambers of Selmer, TN; a daughter-in-law, Ann Wigginton of Michie, TN; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Wigginton was preceded in death by a son, Tommy Wigginton; two sisters, Audrey Dowdy and Willie Mae Thomas; and two brothers, Warren G. Chambers and J. R. Chambers.
Services will be held on September 21, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Selmer, Tennessee, with James Hardin officiating. Burial will follow in the Michie Cemetery at Michie, Tennessee.
