Mildred Ward

Mildred Banks Ward was born October 12, 1918 in Selmer, TN the daughter of the late Bennett Roscoe and Lena Elizabeth Brown Banks.



She was united in marriage to James Arnold Ward on May 25, 1940. They celebrated their 72nd anniversary this year.



Mrs. Ward was a hard worker, working along the side of her husband in the field driving the bean truck as well as being a full time homemaker. She was a member of the Clear Creek Baptist Church. Some of her favorite pastimes were gardening, cooking, attending church, listening to the Chuck Wagon Gang and spending time with her family.



Mrs. Ward departed this life on December 29, 2012 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 94 Years, 2 Months, 17 Days. She is survived by her husband James Arnold Ward of Selmer, TN; a daughter, Norma Jean King and husband Bill of Selmer, TN; two sons, Jerry Ward and wife Ann of Selmer, TN, Billy Wayne Ward and wife Linda of Selmer, TN; four grandchildren, Molly Latham and husband Kirby of Selmer, TN, Rhonda Cartwright and husband Jim of Bethel Springs, TN, Jeff Ward and wife Carrie of Selmer, TN, David Ward and wife Cheryl of Jackson, TN; nine great grand children, and two great great grand children.



In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ward was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Jerry Matthew Ward, Steve Allen King; six brothers, Seldon Banks, Herman Banks, Roy Banks, Troy Banks, Milton Banks, and Charles Banks.
