Mildred Ruth Nichols

Mildred Ruth Meek Nichols was born May 19, 1923 in Adamsville, Tennessee the daughter of the late Irving M. and Garmillia Peery Meek.
She was united in marriage to Ephraim C. Nichols on August 31, 1946. Mr. Nichols preceded her in death on February 6, 2008.
Mrs. Nichols was Salutatorian of her graduating class at Adamsville High School. She was a homemaker and was retired from Harwood Manufacturing where she worked as a sewing machine operator. After Harwood closed, Mrs. Nichols attended Crump Vocational School where she studied secretarial skills. Rather than returning to work, she elected to stay home and help take care of her grandchildren. She was a member of the Adamsville First Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Nichols departed this life on September 9, 2008 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 85 Years, 3 Months, 21 Days. She is survived by a son, Joe Travis Nichols of Memphis, TN; a daughter, Pamela Ruth Baugus of Adamsville, TN; two grandchildren, Monica Jo Young and Emily Ruth Gray; three great grandchildren, Taylor A. Young, Lindy A. Young and Jon Canton Gray; a sister, Doris McIntyre Gean of Atlanta, GA; and a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Nichols was preceded in death by two brothers, J. R. Meek and Irving Meek Jr.
