Mildred Josephine Lay Martin Blalock

Mildred Josephine Lay Martin Blalock, Waynesboro, TN, formerly of Waterfall Creek Road, Collinwood, TN, was born March 21, 1924 in Waynesboro, TN, the daughter of the late Luther B. and Nina King Lay.

Mrs. Blalock was a retired factory worker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Collinwood, Tennessee. She departed this life Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at Waynesboro Health and Rehabilitation, Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 92 Years, 6 Months.

Survivors, a son, Michael Martin and wife, Gail, Sand Springs, OK; a daughter, Reba Martin Drolick and husband, Fred, Collinwood, TN; a daughter-in-law Sue Martin; grandchildren, Angie Watson, Avalyn Bauer, Sara Yarber, Gina Ward, Dustin Martin, Paula Eaton, Mark Martin, John Martin, Paul Martin Jr., Joe Lee Martin, Bobby Martin, a Stephanie Martin; 24 Great Grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Blalock was preceded in death by her first husband, the father of her children, Lester Lee Martin; her second husband, Guy Blalock; a son, Paul Lay Martin ; a grandchild, Rachael Holtman; a brother, Leonard H. Lay and a sister, Nette Lay Risner.

Services will be Sunday, September 25, 2016 at 1:30 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Stephen Leach officiating. Burial will follow in King Cemetery, Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Pallbearers will be Bobby Martin,John Martin, Mark Martin, Dustin Martin, Billy Wade Lay and Vernon Lay.

Visitation will be Saturday, September 24, 2016 from 6 pm to 8 pm and Sunday, September 25, 2016 from 12:30 pm to service time at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be given to the Ronald McDonald House or to the Wayne County Ministrial Association.
