Mildred Burns

Mildred Cummings Burns of Collinwood, TN was born April 19, 1926 in Collinwood, TN, the daughter of the late Lincoln and Sarah Ellen Blalock Cummings. She was united in marriage to Marvin Durell Burns Sr. on December 29, 1943. and he preceded her in death on April 12, 1991.

Mrs. Burns was a Homemaker and departed this life on April 27, 2015 in Collinwood, Tennessee at the age of 89 Years, 8 Days.

She is survived by three daughters, Marilyn Wallace of Florence, AL, Gwen Burns and Kathy Keeton both of Collinwood, TN; grandchildren; Jim Burns; Tim Wallace, Julie Beasley, Kevin Burns; Greg Keeton and James Lee Burns; great grandchildren; Tim & Tyler Wallace; Paige, Haley & Sidney Burns; Hunter, Ethan, Chace, Lillie & Chloe Keeton; Madison & Kaylee Burns; Sarah Burns; Astar & Carolanne Burns; great great grandchildren; Brailyn and Gabriel Burns; brothers, Obie Hershall Cummings , James Andy Cummings both of Collinwood, TN, Marshall Cummings of Mt. Pleasant, TN, Lester Ray Cummings of Lawrenceburg, TN, David Cummings of Iron City, TN; sisters, Ruby Martin of Waynesboro, TN, Ruth Mayes of Iron City, TN, Linda Johnson of Collinwood, TN; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by sons, Marvin Durell Burns, Jr. and Kenneth Ray (Frosty) Burns; a grandson, Tommy Burns; brother, Carl Cummings; sister, Vada Decapo.

Services will be held on April 30, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Home in Collinwood, Tennessee, with Ricky Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in the McGlamery Cemetery, Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Pallbearers will be Kevin Burns, Greg Keeton, Jamie Beasley, Tim Wallace, Jim Burns and James Lee Burns. Honorary pallbearers will be Timothy and Tyler Wallace.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 29, 2015 from 5 pm to 9 pm and Thursday, April 30, 2015 from 9 am to service time at the funeral home.
