Mike Johnson
was born in Tacoma, Washington on May 3, 1959 the son of the late E.W. and Sarah Estelle Hayes Johnson.
On May 18, 2019 he was united in marriage to Betty Virginia Benson, who survives.
Mike served his country in the United States Army, serving time in Germany. He was a past member of the American Legion. Mike was a master carpenter and owned his own construction company while living in Washington. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, walking outdoors, story telling, and traveling, especially to the mountains. Mike loved living life.
He departed this life on Saturday, March 26, 2022 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 62 years, 10 months and 23 days.
Mike is survived by his wife, Betty of Savannah, Tennessee; daughter, Rachel Thompson of Renton, Washington; stepchildren, Karen Benson of Adamsville, Tennessee and James Copeland of Crump, Tennessee; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren; sister, Joyce Ayers and her husband John W. of Hampton, Virginia; and brothers, Dave Johnson and his wife Catherine of Morris Chapel, Tennessee, Donald Johnson and his wife Barbara of Savannah, Tennessee, and Tony Johnson and his wife Jovey of Detroit, Michigan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Deborah Johnson and two brothers, Eddie W. Johnson and Jerry W. Johnson.
