MICKEY ELLIS
Henderson: Mickey Ellis, age 82, died Sunday morning, February 21, 2016 at Jackson General Hospital.
Mr. Ellis was born and reared in Chester County, the son of the late Freed Elmer and Pearl Jane Weeks Ellis. He graduated from Chester County High School in 1952 and served in the U. S. Army from 1955 to 1957 being stationed in Anchorage, AK. He married Josephine Anderson in 1956. They made their home in Henderson where he owned and operated Ellis Signs. Mr. Ellis was a charter member of the Henderson Elks Lodge, being a member over 40 years, and served two terms as Exalted Ruler. He was an avid camper and loved to travel. He also loved to read and was a history buff.
He is survived by his wife Jo Anderson Ellis of Henderson, a son Eddie Ellis of Henderson, four daughters; Elecia Ellis of Memphis, Denise Phillips of Finger, Brandi Wilson of Henderson and Allyson Ellis of Memphis. He has seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter Vicki Lynne Ellis in 2012.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday at Shackelford – Casey Chapel with Ken Kitchen and Rex Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at Henderson City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Shackelford – Casey Chapel beginning at 5:00 PM Monday.
