Michael (Mike) Wade Whitten

Michael Wade (Mike) Whitten of Cypress Inn, TN was born August 20, 1955 in Florence, AL, the son of the late Charlie Garner (Mutt) and Dorothy Lucille Wilson Whitten. He was united in marriage to Susan Ann Pigg on November 26, 1975.

Mr. Whitten was employed with Reynolds Aluminum/Alloys and departed this life on Friday, April 19, 2019 at his home at the age of 63 Years, 7 Months, 30 Days.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Ann Pigg Whitten; a daughter, Melissa Ann Whitten and fiancee, Tim Staggs; two brothers, Jerry Wayne Whitten and wife, Brenda and Randy Keith Whitten and wife, Marsha all of Cypress Inn, TN; a sister, Bettye Regina Ethridge and husband, Rick of Florence, AL; aunts, uncles, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Whitten was preceded in death by a brother, Terry Lane Whitten and an unnamed infant brother.

Services will be held on Monday, April 22, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel in Collinwood, Tennessee, with Tim Hanback and Tommy Beckham officiating. Burial will follow in the Railroad Cemetery, Iron City, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County directing. Visitation will be Sunday, April 21, 2019 from 5:30 pm to 9 pm and Monday, April 22, 2019 from 9 am to service time at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Steve Barkley, Ricky Smith, Tommy Beckham, Tim Whitten, Adam Whitten, Chad Whitten and Rick Ethridge. Honoray pallbearers will be Tim Staggs, Larry Staggs, Johnny Whitten and Kenley Britnell.
