Melvalene Clura White

Mrs. Melvalene Clura Gatlin White, age 77, of Waynesboro, TN was born August 25, 1931 in Limestone County, Alabama the daughter of the late Thomas Curtis and Lena Mae Wright Gatlin. Mrs. White departed this life Saturday, February 21, 2009 at Crockett Hospital in Lawrenceburg. She was a homemaker and a member of County Line Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, Mrs White was preceded in death by three brothers, Osborn Gatlin, Jack Gatlin, and Hollis Gatlin; two sisters, Laura Zeidel and Betty Cates. brother in law Ken Perrin and a sister in law, Eveley Lee Gatlin.



She is survived by her husband James Lowell White Sr. of Waynesboro, TN;

two sons, James White Jr. and wife Misty and Donnie White all of Waynesboro, TN; daughter, Connie Olmstead and husband Robert of Lawrenceburg, TN, ;



four grandchildren, Shena Bradley and fiance Bronson Ayers of Lawrenceburg, TN, Whitney Bradley of Lawrenceburg, TN, Meggan Jackson and husband Dustin of Lester, AL, Canon White of Madison, AL, and Kiara Ann White of Waynesboro, TN;

two great grandchildren, Corbin Ayers of Lawrenceburg, TN and Caden Jackson of Lester, AL; step-granddaughter, Amy Hankins and husband Brownie of Hohenwald, TN; step-grandson, Micah Pyle of Waynesboro, TN; three step great-grandchildren, Jimmy Gordon, Kaylie Hankins, and Shane Hankins all of Hohenwald, TN;

sisters, Gelena Perrin of Waynesboro, Dona White and husband Leighton of Limestone, AL, Tythia Farrish of Michigan; brothers in law, Ted Zeidel of Lincoln Park, MI and J.C. Cates of Mississsippi; sisters in law, Willa Pearl Gatlin and Sue Gatlin both of Waynesboro, TN.



Services will be held Monday, February 23, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Chapel in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with John Gibbs officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Cemetery near Lawrence County with Shackeldford Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.
