Melody Suzette Shelby

Melody (Mel) Suzette Shelby



was born on July 24, 1979 in McNairy County, Tennessee the daughter of Barbara Susan Alexander Shelby Waddell and the late Jerry Mac “Dean” Shelby.



Ms. Shelby worked as a self-employed landscaper and had also worked as a truck driver.



She departed this life on July 18, 2006 at McNairy Regional Hospital in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 26 years, 11 months and 24 days.



Ms. Shelby is survived by her mother, Barbara Susan Shelby Waddell of Morris Chapel, Tennessee; her step-dad and friend, Monty Ryan Waddell of Morris Chapel, Tennessee;

2 sisters: Susan Deanne Brown of Linden, Tennessee; Jessica Marie Shelby of Morris Chapel; one brother, Zachary Dane Shelby of Morris Chapel;

one half-sister, Samantha Diane Shelby of Savannah, Tennessee;

3 half-brothers: Jonathon Dean Shelby, Jeffery Dean Shelby and Joseph Daniel Shelby, all of Savannah; a step-brother, Cody Ryan Waddell of Savannah;

her grandmothers: Mildred Brasher of Morris Chapel and Dorothy Shelby of Savannah;

her great-grandmother, Nettie Thomas of Morris Chapel and her godchild, Kaylie Morgan Hoover of Morris Chapel.



In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a half-sister, Cynthia McCasland and her grandfathers, Farris Robert Alexander and Columbus Brownlo Shelby.
