Melburn Levoan Duckworth

Services for Melburn L. Duckworth, age 81, of Apollo Beach, FL, formerly of Waynesboro, TN, will be Monday, September 10, 2007 at 4 pm at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel, Waynesboro, with Cal Hampton officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Memorial Gardens, Waynesboro, with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Sunday, September 9, 2007 from 5 pm to 8 pm and Monday, September 10, 2007 from 2 pm until service time at the funeral home.



Mr. Duckworth had lived in Apollo Beach, FL since April, 2006 and died there at Sun City Center Hospice Home on Thursday, September 6, 2007.



A native of Hardin County, TN, he was a retired farmer and factory worker, having worked at Genesco Manufacturing and Murray Ohio Manufacturing companies. He was a member of Green River Baptist Church, Waynesboro, and was a United States Navy veteran of WWII.



Mr. Duckworth was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Leonidas Helton Duckworth and sisters, Hettie Louise Chesser and Margaret Monell Odle Hunt.



Survivors, wife, Ruby Dixon Duckworth, Apollo Beach, FL; son, Randy L. Duckworth, Apollo Beach, FL; daughter, Amy Beth Stigall, Brentwood, TN; grandchildren, Leigh Stigall, Lee Piepenbring, and Betsy Pittinger; great-grandson, Jacob Thomas Pittinger; several nieces and nephews.
