Melba Campbell

MELBA CAMPBELLwas born in Saltillo, Tennessee on June 27, 1925 the daughter of the late John Homer and Floia Estes Butler Bingham.On July 21, 1946 she was united in marriage to Sloan Campbell, who preceded his wife in death on October 3, 1998.Mrs. Campbell was a retired mail order clerk for Sears in Memphis, Tennessee. She attended New Prospect Baptist Church in Hooker's Bend community.Mrs. Campbell departed this life on February 21, 2009 at the age of 83 years, 7 months and 25 days.She is survived by 3 grandchildren, Cindy White, Angela Tucker and Amanda Thornton6 great-grandchildren, Shawn Polley, Nicholas Polley, Mallory Tucker, Kelly Tucker, Madison White and Abigail Thornton2 sisters, Lou Dean Garrard of Savannah, Tennessee and Betty Essary of Gleason, Tennesseeone brother, Wayne Bingham of Collierville, TennesseeOther than her parents and her husband, Mrs. Campbell was also preceded in death by one daughter, Sharon Ann Akin.
