Mazie Young Powers

Mrs. Powers passed away early Monday morning at her home.
A native and life-long resident of Hardeman County, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Edward and Birdie Mae Poole Young. On June 18, 1955, she married James H. Powers, who survives. She was a member of the New Union Baptist Church and since July, 1974, she was the owner of Power's Grocery located near Medon. In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling, eating out and shopping.
In addition to her husband, she leaves a son, James Edward Powers of Jackson; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Whitman on November 27, 2013.
