MAZIE E. PLUNK
Henderson, TN: Mazie Emily Plunk age 90 passed away September 6, 2016 at the Henderson Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born November 2, 1925 in MO, the daughter of the late Atlas Kelley, she moved to Tennessee at an early age and attended Chester County Schools. She was married to James L. Plunk on November 25, 1950. They made their home on Plunk road near Jacks Creek. Mrs. Plunk worked at Salant & Salant and later for the Board of Education in food service at East Chester Elementary School. She also farmed with her husband during their life together and enjoyed quilting, her garden and flowers.
Mrs. Plunk is survived by a son, Steve Plunk and wife Janice of Henderson and grandchildren, Emily Heimbach, Crystal Oakes, Larence Steven Plunk, Jr., Laura Plunk, Carley Plunk, Caedmon Oakes, Jericho Heimbach, Catherine Mazie Oakes and Gracie Plunk.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James L. Plunk (1994) and a son David Plunk (2003).
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday, September 9, 2016 at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Johnson Chapel with Bro. Andy Maness officiating. Burial will follow in Old Friendship Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Johnson Chapel 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM Thursday.
