Funeral services for Maynard Thompson, Sr. age 82, of Wayne Care Nursing Home, Waynesboro formerly of Collinwood,TN will be on Saturday, December 31, 2005 at 1:00 pm Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel, Collinwood with Richard Bane and Josh Stults officiating. Interment following in Butler Grove Cemetery, Iron City, TN with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County in charge of the arrangements.



Maynard Thompson a native of Wayne County, TN died on Thursday December 29, 2005 at Wayne Care Nursing Home, Waynesboro. Mr. Thompson was born on March 5, 1923 to the late James M and Sarah Melinda Daniel Thompson. He was preceded in death by a daughter; Kathy May Thompson; brothers; Floyd; Boyd; Loyd and Noble Thompson; sisters; Maudie Thompson Melton; Bertha Thompson Daniels; Betsy Thompson Brewer; Lydia Thompson Brewer; Hazel and Lara Thompson.



Mr. Maynard was a retired logger ; member of the Baptist Church and served his country in the United States Navy during World War II
