Maxine Smith

January 24, 1927 — April 5, 2010

Maxine Smith was born January 24, 1927 in Hardin County, Tennessee the daughter of the late William Barney and Edna Noralee Smith. She was united in marriage to Bro. James Edward Smith on June 28, 1946. Mrs. Smith was a Homemaker and Secretary for Smith Farms. She and her husband were selected as a Test Farm Demonstrator in conjunction with the UT Agriculture Extension Service. They were members of the American and Tennessee Soybean Associations. She was a member of the Adamsville Free Will Baptist Church and a dedicated Minister's wife. Mrs. Smith was a member of the Savannah, TN Art Guild and was a very accomplished artist, having received numerous ribbons and awards for her artwork. She loved quilting, sewing, and doing things for her family and friends.



Mrs. Smith departed this life on Monday, April 5, 2010 in Adamsville, Tennessee at the age of 83 Years, 2 Months, 12 Days.



She is survived by her husband of 63 plus years Bro. James Edward Smith of Stantonville, TN; a daughter, Dana Janniece Henderson and husband Bobby of Bells, TN; three sons, Nyles E. Smith and wife Doris of Stantonville, TN, Jamie Max Smith and wife Penny of Sardis, TN, Barney Dwayne Smith and wife Carol of Stantonville, TN; a sister, Virginia Muriel Pettigrew of Adamsville, TN; two brothers, Derald Smith of Bolivar, TN, Sammie Smith of Stantonville, TN; 9 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren, 3 Step Grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.



In addition to her parents, Mrs Smith was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Randy Smith on February 19, 1987; a sister, Laurene Conaway; three brothers, J. D. Smith, Melvin S. Smith, Douglas Edward Smith; a grandson, Jim Smith; and a step-grandson, Dana Paul Kitchen.
