Maudie Stricklin
was born in Savannah, Tennessee on February 19, 1918 the daughter of the late Luther and Mary Hollingsworth Ferrell.
In November of 1935, she was united in marriage to Jesse Martin Stricklin, who preceded her in death on May 11, 1979. She was later married to Lincoln Bowling, who also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Stricklin worked for Brown Shoe Company for 30 years. She had lived in Savannah all of her life and was a member of New Life Pentecostal Church. Mrs. Stricklin loved sewing, quilting, gardening and going to church.
She departed this life on August 31, 2006 at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee at the age of 88 years, 6 months and 12 days.
Mrs. Stricklin is survived by 2 daughters: Mary B. Faulkner of Florence, Alabama and
Peggy Sue Martin of Cordova, Tennessee; 4 sons: Jamie D Stricklin of Savannah, Tennessee, Bobby G. Stricklin of Collierville, Tennessee, Willie D. Stricklin of Barton, Mississippi and Freddie Stricklin of Eads, Tennessee; 16 grandchildren;
23 great-grandchilren and 3 sisters: Ruby Gray of Savannah, Tennessee, Lucille Hunt of
Savannah, Tennessee and Lillie Mae Robbins of Kankakee, Illinois.
Mrs. Stricklin was also preceded in death by a son, Wendell Stricklin;
a brother, Frank Ferrell and 2 sisters: Edna Lee Thompson and Jo Kate Overton.
