Maudie Victoria Glidwell, 82, of Jackson, died Monday, July 4, 2005 at her daughter's home in Henderson.
The widow of James Louis Glidwell, who died January 31, 1997, she was a homemaker. Mrs. Glidwell was born March 27, 1923 in Medon, daughter of the later William Edward Buchanan and Mary Ethel Dowdy Buchanan and made her home in Jackson since 1951. She was a member of Henderson Church of God.
Graveside services were 11AM Thursday, July 7, 2005 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in East Jackson with Jerry Wilson officiating. Shackelford Funeral Directors of Bolivar were in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Ann Roach of Jackson and Clara Ruth Fiessinger of Henderson; one brother, James Buchanan of Jackson; one grandaughter, Teresa Hart of Beech Bluff; two great grandsons, Randy Barns of Jackson and Jordan Tyler Currie of Beech Bluff; four nephews, James Lee Buchanan of Jackson, David Elenzo Buchanan of St. Louis, MO, Ralph Taggett of Penn., Jimmy Wayne Buchanan of Jackson; and four nieces, Patricia Ann Buchanan Smith of Jackson, Diane Buchanan Morehead of Miss., Mary E. Buchanan Bryant of Bolivar and Mary Taggett Mathers of Hialeah, Fla. She was preceded in death by one sister, Willadean Taggett; one brother, Edward Elenzo Buchanan and one half-sister, Annie Everette Zulkie.
