Mattie Abrams Williams
was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on June 6, 1907 the daughter of the late William Thomas and Sarah Dodd Abrams.
On March 25, 1928 she was united in marriage to Coy Williams, who preceded her in death on April 21, 1972. Mrs. Williams was a homemaker and a member of Second Creek Church of Christ. She was known as being a caregiver and ready to lend a helping hand when needed.
She departed this life on July 21, 2007 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 100 years, 1 month and 15 days.
Mrs. Williams is survived by her children: Grady Williams and his wife, Joyce, and Coydean Beckham and her husband, John, all of Savannah, Tennesee;
six grandchildren: Gwen Hastings, Debra Maness, Pamela Bain,
Krysta Pickens, James Beckham and Beverly England;
15 great-grandchildren: Jennifer Moore, Jared Hastings, Austin Maness, Jonathan Hinton, Adrienne Hodum, Sarah Ray, Levi Ray, Seth Pickens, Adam Bain, Kara England, Rebecca England, Jacob England,
John Beckham, Jessica Beckham and Jennifer Beckham;
and three great-great-grandchildren: Cooper Moore, Clayton Bain and
Lainey Bain.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a grandchild, Tina Williams Hinton; a great-grandchild, Brett Allen Hastings;
four brothers: Charlie Abrams, Claude Abrams, Dougal Abrams and
Clyde Abrams; and three sisters: Etta Parker, Estelle Harrison and Grace Abrams.
