Mattie Derryberry

Mattie Derryberrywas born in Hardin County, Tennessee on July 30, 1920 the daughter of the late Marvin and Edyth Perkins Pickens.On August 18, 1944 she was united in marriage to Grady William Derryberry, who preceded her in death on September 3, 1964. Mrs. Derryberry was a personnel supervisor with Woolworth's for about twenty three years. Prior to living in Alabama she had lived in Shiloh, Tennessee and Cartersville, Georgia. Mrs. Derryberry was a member of Sam Jones Methodist Church in Cartersville, Georgia.She departed this life on April 21, 2007 in Foley, Alabama at the age of 86 years, 8 months and 22 days.Mrs. Derryberry is survived by two daughters: Dianne Derryberry Keys of Gulf Shores, Alabama and Shirley Derryberry Holmes of Greensboro, Georgia; four grandchildren: Bill Holmes, Kim McDonald, Traci Cira and Michael Keysand seven great-grandchildren.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Harold Pickens.
