Mattie Ayers

Mattie Melson Ayers of Lutts, TN was born May 24, 1941 in Wayne County, TN, the daughter of the late Thomas Clarence and Mattie Louella Moser Melson. She was united in marriage to Noah Ayers and he preceded her in death on April 25, 2010. Mrs. Ayers, a homemaker was of the Pentecostal Faith. Mrs. Ayers departed this life on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at her home at the age of 72 Years, 12 Days.She is survived by a son, Danny Ayers of Lutts, TN; daughters, Pearl Ayers, Wanda Templeton, Dorothy Olive, and Nora Sue Copeland all of Lutts, TN; a sister, Ruby Mae Stricklin of Savannah, TN; 17 Grandchildren, 15 Great- Grandchildren.In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Ayers was preceded in death by a daughter, Robbie Copeland; grandchild, Trisha Olive; seven brothers and two sisters.Services will be Saturday, June 7, 2013 at 3:00 PM at Piney Grove Freewill Baptist Church in Cypress Inn, Tennessee, with Greg Eaton and Robert Marks officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Pallbearers will Devie Olive, Cody Olive, Mathew Ayers, Michael Lee Reeves, Mike Reeves, Dakota Copeland, Anthony Cox, and Christopher Copeland.
