Mary Jo Williams

March 1, 1921 — March 30, 2006

She was born and reared in Helena, Oklahoma, the daughter of the late Frank and Alta Ferguson Barnett. She attended schools in Oklahoma. She was married to Charles R. Williams in 1937. Mr. Williams was a Church of Christ Minister and they made their home in Salem, IL, Trenton, TN and then to Texarkana, TX where they served churches there. He then served the Church in Bemis, TN and also taught Bible and English at Freed Hardeman from 1957 until 1963. They then returned to Texarkana. He preached for several years in Sulfur Springs, TX and then back to Texarkana, where he retired after preaching for sixty years. Mr. Williams died in 1998 and Mrs. Williams moved to Henderson the following year. She was a member of the Henderson Church of Christ and the Town and Country Family Community Education Club.



She is survived by three daughters Nancy Smith and her husband Charlie of Henderson, Charlene Readhimer and her husband Don of Millersville and Terri Markquart and her husband John of Eau Claire, WI; she has twelve grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She also has two sisters Shirley Ritzendollar of New Castle, OK and Lucille Guest of Roff, OK.



Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her husband Charles R. Williams and a daughter Carol Sellers.
